- Ultraman: Great Monster Decisive Battle is the first Ultraman film to feature more than a few seconds of new footage.
- The film also is the first to have Ultraman Joneus portrayed in live-action.
- The suit used to portray Alien Baltan in his battle against Ultraman would later go on to be used to portray the alien's appearances in Ultraman 80.
