Astromons (アストロモンス,   Asutoromonsu) is a Supernatural Plant Kaiju that first appeared alongside Oil Drinker in the first episode of the 1973 television series Ultraman Taro.

Name[]

Astromons' name comes from the Japanese words "Astro Monster (アストロモンスター,   Asutoro Monsutā)," which translates to English as "Cosmic Monster."

Design[]

The Tigris Flower resembles a large red flower that is flat at the top and has a yellow center. As a kaiju, Astromons resembles a reptilian creature with a giant version of the Tigris Flower on his torso. His body is covered in bumpy, greenish-gray ridges and his legs are covered in what appears to be hair. Each shoulder has a single red spike, his right arm utilizes a whip-like tentacle, and his left has a hook, which are both red in color. Astromons has two tails and has a row of red spikes running up his back. Astromons' head has a large, hooked horn that points forward and a smaller one on the end of his flat snout. He has two small gills on the sides of his head and sports two small tusks.
